Secondary and prep sinks are adapting new shapes, says Maureen Brennan at Elkay Sinks + Faucets. Popular new styles include shapes that look like ponds, waves, and even kidney beans. Stainless steel sinks with shelves are also requested as prep sinks.

Color is returning to kitchens, notes Viking Range Corp. Design Relations Manager Jim Gregory. The company’s palette of color finishes will expand from 14 to 24 with the addition of several new finishes, including stainless steel, he says. “These finishes will give consumers, architects and designers more options to coordinate with personal tastes.
