Turnkey tips

When considering turnkey pricing, there are several things you can do to help narrow your choices:

1. Ask where the materials come from and who the subcontractors are. Most producers that have been around for at least a decade have produced thousands of homes and have found quality partners: carpteners, painters, plumbers, electricians, tile contractors, ahd HVAC specialists. “The first way I would check out a builder out is to find out if they pay their bills at the local lumber supply, local electrical and plumbing supply, and if the bank has a good experience with that builder,” says Jef Welch of Barna Log Homes.

2. Check references. How many other turnkey homes have they built? Do they have any models nearby you can tour? Can you meet or speak with owners of other turnkey homes?

3. Have options for your square footage, the type of logs you’d like, and the corner styles you want. Being flexible will allow you more options and a cheaper turnkey price.
