FIREPLACE AND HEARTH RESOURCE GUIDE
Here’s a guide to some of the most frequently used fireplace manufacturers, masonry providers, and producers of hearth accessories for log homes.
The best way to research the fireplace for your log home is, first, to talk to your log-home producer. In most cases, the representative can recommend a company in your area you can speak with to determine cost, feasibility, size, and options, and chances are the same company has done some work on a log home.
Second, when you have a clearer idea of the type of fireplace you want, go online and Google several keywords at once. You should include the type of fireplace you want and the area in which you intend to build. The more specifics you include in your search, the better. For example, “Georgia log home gas fireplace” will get you more specific results than “fireplace.”
Third, if Google search proves too overwhelming (which certainly can be the case), we’ve found it helpful to pull out the Yellow Pages, look under “Fireplaces,” and call your nearest specialist. If nothing else, the local firm can break down the costs for each option, answer your how-to questions, and help you narrow your search for local providers.
